Our Story
Before the first year of harvest my dad, Jimmy Coan went on a cross-country journey in search of the right area, the right market, and the right atmosphere to sell our trees in. His journey ended in Austin Texas the day that John Lennon was assassinated. He had never before experienced such communal sorrow then what was expressed in Austin that day. It was a city, but it was a city of friends and like- minded people, and on that day in the citu of music, it was a city of grief. My dad sensed something inseparable about Austin that inspired him to bring our Christmas trees I800 miles from their birthplace to the citu of music. For the first time, the residents of Austin Texas had North Carolina Christmas trees in their homes, and Papa Noel Christmas Trees was born.
Now 40 years later, we're a staple of this city, we're a tradition for thousands of families wha seek us out year after year to get a taste of what we offer; a Christmas tree yes, but also the experience, the nostalgia, the tradition, and the sense of family. Sa from our family to yours, thank you; thank you for coming back each year and making us a part of your Christmas tradition. We will continue to bring our famous Christmas trees to the citu of music for years to come.
